I find it disturbing that you think our continuously diminishing "Rights" come from anything other than our government? As equally disturbing is you don't see the selectivity of enforcement based on politics.

No one is taking away anyone's rights. He forfeit them. And he should NOT be allowed to speak, and these morons that want him to should be shipped to Africa to assist the Ebola personnel.

Anyone who has followed this case over the decades knows good and well that Mumia's trial was clearly rigged against him. It has been proven that police falsified all evidence presented in his trial, from the murder weapon to the "eye witnesses" (who were paid to say what they did), that the judge in his trial was a racist known for throwing around the N-word...and of course, this being America, he found himself facing an all-white jury rather than a jury of his peers (and we know THAT goes) and not even allowed to attend most of his own trial. There has never been a shred of real evidence of Mumia's guilt. To that end, everyone from Amnesty International to the Catholic Church has considered Mumia a political prisoner (incarcerated for being a former, and vocal, Black Panther) who should be freed for decades now. I too believe he should be freed.

Yes they do. As does the Federal government. The second they place ANYONE under arrest, they are violating "innocent until proven guilty". Arrest and detainment is the presumption of guilt.

You're incarcerated, you have no rights. Now you can talk the big talk all you want, but the fact is, you have no rights. And I'm okay with that. But allowing someone to selectively have rights is BS. If this was that white cop in Missouri, nobody'd give a damn what he had to say.

Actually, most people do not become aware of their rights until they are incarcerated. The right to due process for example.

Convicted felons lose some of their Constitutional rights in some states. The right to vote, carry a firearm and some licenses are lost. Some one time offenders can petition the court to regain these rights.
