Would have been nice to have had the option to put 50 years of SS investment into private investment.

I just love this non-argument. It's something you could do anyway.

But most of us lived paycheck to paycheck when we were young, so it would have been spent sooner rather than later.

Or lost during the 2008 Bush meltdown...

    Yeah, that's the one.

Do you ever get your car insurance back? Even if you never use it?

No, it's not something you could do anyway, nic. The 6.2% is taken out of my check. It's gone. There is nothing else I can do with it.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

    Agreed, wholly!

But that would defeat the true purpose of the plan which was to have a political cookie jar and a gubmint dependency-driving federal program.

The better question is - do YOU know how insurance works?

Google "unfunded liability", read it, understand it then talk to me.

    And something I did do.

But it would have been nice to have used SS money that way as well.

No argument, obviously my way offers options, your way demands a coerced cookie-cutter solution. Liberalism, ideas so go they have to be mandatory.

Was wondering who was going to try and credit him with WWII. Have to admit I was expecting a conspiracy theory though.

Mobilizing the industry of this nation got us out of the Depression and it was nothing but happenstance that FDR was President. Not to mention he decided to extend his kingship a little longer than any other President. He was the beginning of the modern-era leftwing propaganda machine.
