That level of naivete is cute. It'd be so simple if it was that easy....

In any case, I feel bad for this kid. Cops need to be taken down a notch. It would be great if they were subject to the same level of punishment as regular civilians are, but I don't foresee that happening anytime soon.

I'm 47 years old. I know quite well what they think they can get away with. Raise enough of a stir and if they do it to the wrong person, they won't get away with it.

[QUOTE=nic34;789746]If they had shot him dead, I can guarantee you folks would be saying it's his fault for not complying with the cops.[/QUOTE

If the young man had done something dumb, like make a sudden gesture that could be mistaken for a weapon, or an aggressive move he could have gotten hurt that is true. Critics keep forgetting how the situation looks to the police. They don't know who he is, or what he is capable of, burglars amd criminals lie all the time. If police ignore events like that and a real burglary or worse occurs, critics would be posting about the fat, lazy cops doing nothing but eating donuts on the taxpayer dime.

In situations like the one the young man encountered, compliance and communication are the best way to go.
