I don't think so. no more gullible than anyone else. The latter part of your statement, on the other had, I think is spot on. There is a serious cultural clash here. I think people fear losing their cultural identity and, IMO, rightly so.

You see that everywhere though. Look at the partisan loons on this site. It's a personality type that I honestly think is est characterized by intellectual laziness than anything else. We don't have to use extreme examples like Cigar's frankly disturbing devotion to a man who likely wouldn't stop to piss on him if he was on fire. No one is suggesting that all Muslims are evil, rather I’d state that it is the cult of Islam that encourages evil.
If it were invented today, it would be banned in Europe as being against the interests of humanity. It is a cult that demands total obedience to a middle ages barbarism and has all the hallmarks; slavery, conquest; perpetual war; the murder of unbelievers; women as chattel . . . it goes against any aspect of the 21^st century. It keeps its own people in ignorance through fear and the governments of Europe frightened because there are now so many of them and the job now is to appease them and offer lame excuses for their behaviour.

Left to their own devices, ISIS is an example of where it leads to. Every non-Islamic country bar none that has a Muslim population has the same problem with Islam, because the aim of Islam is to conquer populations and enslave them. The UK already has halal meat in inner city areas, Sharia law courts and laws forbidding dissent against Islam. It’s now opening an alternative banking system based on Sharia law.

Islam won’t conquer the west by violence, it will simply wait and breed out the indeginous population. That’s not in dispute, even official demographic figures acknowledge the UK will be Islamic in approximately thrity years time.
The liberal excuses have been trotted out ad-nauseum, in the UK we know them off by heart.
