If it were primarily white and Christian.
If there were no minorities. There was no slavery or black people left after repeal, if there were no Mexican or other immigration, if the US was mostly made up of European, Christian immigrants.
Would the US be better off culturally, economically, socially, morally. Would we be happier, stronger, more united?

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Hard to say. The "civil war" wasn't really about slavery, and it was fought by white Christians on both sides.
There are "black" libertarians who would be an asset to my community and white Christian European Democrats who would sooner throw me into a federal gulag than shake my hand.
In fact, the people primarily responsible for the ruination of America as a free state almost exclusively white Christian Europeans, Republican and Democrat.

I don't really think so, because if it wasn't race, the powers that be would create another us vs them divide, be it class, religion, whatever.
