Yes I agree. Ordinarily the opportunity is not available to people but shortly after she was elected Mayor in the small community the Republican National Committee had her speak at the Convention. She then ran for office and lost. This time she won. The win shows it doesn't have to make sense.

I suppose being black is an advantage in either party.

We voted for Mia Love for Mayor for a very small community (population is higher now at 27,315) but only because the other candidate was Dell Schanze who was "interesting" in a bad way. That is her only background. Both options came with zero experience but lets face it, who needed experience there? Mia volunteered at the City Council a short time and Dell spend time getting arrested or buzzing homes in his home made plane. Don't be surprised if she wants to bypass gaining experience in this too and run for President. She comes with no background and that is always fun in a dysfunctional Congress. She knows how to say yes, follow the party line, and repeat dividing words. I actually wish her well and hope she is able to actually do something other than pretend and doesn't run for something else after the first week in office. I think I would have respected her more and not regretted voting for her had she not run for Congress before finishing her first elected position as Mayor of a little community who took a chance on an inexperienced candidate.

I voted for a two moderate Republicans in Idaho this year because they had the chops and the experience to do the job.

I only voted for her because she was better than Dell. LOL

I lost respect for her when she ran for another office almost as soon as she got her first ever win. But I wasn't the only one since she lost in that bid. I do hope she does better as she learns the ropes than she did in the tiny community. I wouldn't vote for her now If I still lived there.
