if the company can't employ employees who use Prozac or other psychotropic drugs, I can understand why medical marijuana is not allowed. Legal & prescribed or not, operating equipment could be dangerous under the influence of any of them. If they are doing this because they object to only marijuana, hope they get off their purses.

If someone drinks alcohol on their personal time, and as long as they don't come to work lit, they are good to go. In the airline industry it's 8 hrs. bottle to throttle.

    What's so different about pot?

Yes. You're finally getting it. Maybe there's hope for you libs.

We'd probably agree that you can't just decide willy nilly what a good drug is. That's for corporations to decide.

    Period.

Potential employers should not be allowed to ask you if you do anything legal on your own time like drink, use tobacco or use any kind of legal recreational drug or prescription drug - unless under certain conditions like if your job duties would be at risk.

NO EMPLOYEE should not be expected to show up to work sober and fit for duty.
Problem is not hiring smokers has been upheld by the courts. I dont see how they can allow weed and not cigarettes

the op is about someone who has a prescription for marijuana for migraine....not recreational use. If they have one person on staff taking psychotropic drugs, they have just lost a buncha $$$

You would be surprised at the number of those in the military that deploy to combat on those.
