    Apple Flies Past Samsung, Becomes World’s Biggest Smartphone Vendor in Q4 2014

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Apple...4-474868.shtml

    "According to the figures offered by Gartner, Apple managed to push 74.8 million iPhones in the holiday quarter, while Samsung only sold 73 million phones. The difference isn’t all that big, but given the fact that Samsung sells countless handset models and Apple only has a handful, we have to admit that the outcome is pretty impressive."
    =========================================
    That is very impressive and we Congratulate Apple on its achievement!
    Let's see how much care and compassion Trump and Republicans show for their fellow Americans to truly help them out in their time of need.

    Let's start the count to see if Trump comes through on the many things he promised to do for Americans. If he doesn't, along with a Republican Congress, then what's his and their excuse?

    "Is Windows Defender enough or better apps are needed?

    "They say Windows Defender (or Microsoft Security Essentials in older versions of Windows) can provide only basic protection for computer users, so more advanced threats can easily reach your data and infect your PC."

    Very good point! O.K. Let the voting begin!! What say you? And what would your alternative Anti-Virus software be and why?

    I use Norton Internet Security and Superanti-spyware Pro.

    From time to time I will run c.c. cleaner.

    I just don't understand what all the hype is about. Windows Defender does a great job with daily updates and always on time! So, unless other anti-virus software programs are bringing in something extra in their own updates I don't see a difference between Windows Defender and other great programs. Therefore, it's a keep!

    Third party all the way. But it is difficult to clean a system that is in and of itself a virus.

    I refer to any edition of windows.

    That being said, malewarebytes seems to be doing the trick lately. Norton is the devil.

    CCleaner is a good one to have, as well as Revo uninstaller. Some programs leave their herpes behind, the last two are wonders and getting rid of them.

    But if you're the Man, just boot with Puppy Linux and handle appropriately.

    Over 5.3 Million Upatre Infections Detected in the US Since January

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Over-...y-475816.shtml

    "Since the first month of the year, the country recording by far the largest number of infections with Upatre malware downloader is the United States, with 5,326,970 detections."
    ============================================
    This is a real eye-opener. Malware is nothing to take lightly though some naive people still are refusing to use good Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software. Then their computers are destroyed and they start crying about how they can't afford to buy a new computer. Better Wake Up, Folks Or Face the Consequences of being Naivete'.

    Intel Blames Windows XP for Weak New PC Sales

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Intel...s-475834.shtml
    "Intel says that Windows XP is still good enough for the majority of customers that are still running it, so many don’t yet find a good reason to upgrade. Windows XP support was dropped in April 2014, but approximately 18 percent of the world’s computers are still running it, according to third-party data."
    ========================================
    Many large corporations are surprisingly enough still running Windows XP! And you would think they, of all places, could surely afford an upgrade. But XP has proven to be a top choice of so many, so much so that that is why people are keeping it including many in this forum who apparently swear by it.

    But really folks, it's high time for an upgrade. You don't have the Security Updates and support in XP anymore and that's very important in order to keep your computer free from viruses and malware. Your Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software may help you some but it is not the same as an actual Windows update you must remember! The newer OPs do have the periodic updates and support that should keep your system running smoothly.
