I just spent an hour with microsoft ... version 1607 isn't available on the updates ... so I allowed him to ghost my machine and make the upgrade ...
... it's nice ...
.. now, I had him download 1607 to my desktop (iso.file) so I do have it on my USB drive now ... I'll check around to see if ver. 1607 is available for download ...

Has this happened to anyone else?
Last night when I shut my computer down it loaded updates like it usually does about every 3 or 4 weeks. This morning when I started the computer it went to work on the updates. It "froze" at 70% for about 8 minutes. Then it started working again til it got up to the 90 percents and I got a message that it couldn't complete the updates and was removing them and restoring it to the way it was. That took about another 5 minutes or so. Everything works but I got no explanation on why the updates could not be completed.
I got that too once when my old PC tried to upgrade to Windows 10 without my permission.
Now, I have a new PC - and - drat the luck, it came with Windows 10. I immediately disabled all the monitoring crap.
Cortana, my butt.
I've had Win10 for over a year. Maybe it failed to load all the data it needed when I shut it down last night and it got confused this morning. I'll wait and see if they try again.

It wants to try again. Instead of "shut down" it says "update and shutdown." Same as last night.
It worked this time.
