De Blasio standing publicly yesterday complaining he had to talk to his son about how to act around police so he won't get shot is a $#@!ing joke. His son is escorted to and from school daily by the cheap assed $#@! cops!

I didnt expect anyone to actually address the meat and potatos of my thread. Everyone skirted around the facts I demonstrated.

Especially noted was cigar, cigar respect works two ways not one. Put on a uniform as a black man and go into an all minority neighborhood and get a real wake up call as to how police are treated black or not. You have to give respect to get it. Most all police start out respectful, its the response they get that turns the tide. THE CAMERAS are going to show that truth in the raw.

I admit there are things that need to be changed and fixed. What you cant fix is that cops have to consider everyone can have a gun, for their own safety. There are more guns on the street than EVER and black friday broke another record for gun sales. And all the cop cams and laws and whining is not going to change that.

It is a two way street. And abusive attitudes are on both sides of the equation. What makes the difference is police have authority. Civilians do not. This gap needs to be narrowed to a point that levels the playing field.

With all due respect, If you cannot act professionally in your job, you need to find a new line of work. People don't get drafted onto a police force, they know the dangers well before hand. (and I say "you" in general, not at you, Common) I know and admire many cops, I am well aware that the bad ones are not in the majority.

How can you claim that the police are being held accountable, when it is proven over and over again that they can kill for no reason, can be their own judge jury and executioner, with absolutely no repercussions?

I can totally understand why more and more people are buying guns in record numbers, they are scared of those they should be able to trust. I am not condemning all cops, but if they won't get a handle on the situation internally, then we have to do something about it.
