Machen Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, and Rod J. Rosenstein, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.The announcement comes after an outcry from both parties in Congress in response to news reports that detail sensitive national security operations. Both the Senate and House Intelligence Committees have said they'll look into the disclosures. It's not clear which leaks the criminal investigations are focusing on.....snip~

Holder makes a move with Both Parties calling for investigation. Which Cornyn is still calling for an Independant investigation. As no one believes Holder would take any action even if evidence was discovered and they found out who leaked the Info. I am still kind of hoping it is Susan Rice. Then we can see Obama burn that specific bridge publicly.

Holder is 'fast and furious' with Obama, and while he sits before congress lying his ass off, he starts getting serious back flow about a case of possible treason....and goes "oops, have to look like we give a shoit" and launches a flacid attempt to make it look like he does.

This is political. Politics is ugly. This involves some pretty high ranking people in the Wite House....and we know from experience, a simple DOJ probe goes no where...remember Watergate?

No, for this we need a full blown INDEPENDENT investigator backed by the power of congress, and, if the evidence leads there, a congressional committee.....

And if Obama had ANY hand in this.....book 'em. Reveaing state secrets for any reason, especially personal or political gain is treason.....

President Obama is expected Wednesday afternoon to nominate Ronald C. Machen, a former federal prosecutor, to be the next U.S. attorney in the District, according to two government sources with knowledge of the selection process. Machen was the top choice of Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) when she submitted the names of three candidates to President Obama several months ago.

The sources, who asked to remain anonymous because officials are not authorized to comment publicly on such matters, said Machen had only recently finished his vetting pricess as part of an extensive background investigation by federal authorities.

His name will be among others being nominated for such posts across the country, the sources said.

Machen, 40, has not returned e-mails or phone calls seeking comment on the position.

Machen, a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, is a partner at the law firm WilmerHale, where he has specialized in internal investigations for corporations. He was an assistant U.S. attorney in the District from 1997 to 2001, handling crimes ranging from theft to mail fraud.

Machen, who lives in Silver Spring, is expected to move to the District while he holds down the job.

Over the years, he has donated $4,350 to Obama's campaigns. He gave $250 to Obama's U.S. Senate campaign in 2003, a year before Obama, then an Illinois state senator, emerged on the nation's political radar, according to campaign finance records.
