Dont you agree that with crusher types it goes beyond mere disagreement ? He has the classic white supremist talking points. Blaming Jews and blacks for all the countries Ills.

Ive stayed basically out of this thread because everytime I get into this kind of thing I get flash memories of the blacks and jews that stood by me in a very dark place and the worst period of my life who I knew would never leave me. Now im done I refuse to conjure things long buried.

Here's what you people are confusing with the whole democracy/Hitler thing.

Hitler was not elected to chancellorship by a democratic vote. He was elected through a series of backroom deals that brought him to power.

Democracy had nothing to do with Hitler's power. Hitler effectively killed every aspect of what little democracy Germany had since it's inception at the end of WWI, and replaced it with his own theocracy.

Democracy in it's purest form is a direct democracy, with the people voting en masse on programs to benefit the country. Hitler*, through his charm, oratory finesse, or outright bully pulpit, fooled the German people into believing his agenda of purification and genocide, thus precipitating over the years a system of pograms that crumbled the democrat base of the infant democracy of the republic and led the nation into a full fledged fascist totalitarian government.

To compare the state of our government today in any way, shape, or form with Hitler's Germany; as Crushmaster and some of his supporters are doing here; is silly and uneducated. Spew out all the big words you want, it just won't convince anyone.


*Why did I insert an asterick next to Hitler's name? Because I've noticed a disturbing trend in the national political discussion in general and within the charismatic demeanor of some leaders of the right within our government over the past eight years or so that are scaringly indicative of a new, far more dangerous faction of our country along the lines of the insanity that was Hitler's reign.


And, yeah...I've been composing how to post this for two or three days now and now that it's here, I'm giving myself POTD.
