Look at the unemployment rate. U-3 is what is typically used by politicians and the "media." 5.4%/Dec 2014. However the U-6 rate was 11.1% as of December 2014. Then look at the labor force participation rate. 62.7% as of September 2014, a historic low.




To paint these numbers as good is dishonest.

1. So you know exactly how unemployment figures are tallied up ?

2. Millions of illegal aliens work with false documentation, and appear to be legal workers. (uh huh)

3. There are millions of foreigners working in the US legally, also, on work visas. And these corrupt the unemployment figures as well.

4. If a company reports it has 15,000 workers, you think it's going to report that some of them are illegal ?
It may not know if many are illegal (and thus would not be in violation of IRCA), and even if it did, all it has to do is report a number, not who they are. That only happens if ICE comes around.

Foreigners have been the main force of United States for many years. Many important scientific discoveries in USA have been done with foreign team leads.

When politicians brag, they simply pull up one of the hundred charts or tables to show what they want to show.

When they won't admit the labor participation rate, they tell us the unemployment rate. That way they can ignore the actual out of worker people.

Even the Debt clock has a heck of a lot of data and trying to use all of it is harder than it looks. For instance compare the rate today vs the 2000 rates of data.
