Probably this forum and another forum I frequent has accelerated the process of me losing faith. The worst part is I have nothing to replace the lost things I believed in.

I know all that, and yet it is hard for me to forgive the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church was my rock, under my feet, giving me a firm place to stand in the world.

Now I doubt everything about the Catholic Church, and it's only getting worse with time as I learn more about the Church, and it's transgressions in the past.

I would never be a Protestant, that would be a leap too far. But I've joined the ranks of lapsed Catholics, and I fear I may never come back.

At the end of the day, faith is all we have to fall back on. It brings joy, peace, and wisdom. Don't let people, particularly faceless people on the internet, take that away from you. It is yours and yours alone, and you will only lose it if you allow yourself to let go of it.

Well said, my respect grows and that comes from a person who is not overly religious.

I guess ive never lost my roots because I wear a crucifix and cross my self at times and When I think of my mother and her sisters and her mother all very religious catholics and how wonderful and kind people they were. I know religion and religious people are not all nuts or devious and they deserve the same respect as any other

Black, gay, muslim - these are all pressure points for you.
