Apparently you don't have a bit of use or respect for the Declaration of independence nor the preamble of the constitution that most believe is part of the document.

I think most can admit that what G. Washington did was breaking the law, but at the same time the law was being replaced.

I think very highly of the Declaration. A beautiful document. Penned by a man, BTW, that thought the authors of the New Testament were ignorant and unlettered men. One who also rejected the divinity of Jesus. So much for HIS Christianity, huh? But, as I've tried to point out to a few of you, the Declaration is not law. It was a big FU to the Brits and outlined why we were splitting the sheets. As far as any search I have done, as well as others, there has been not one SCOTUS case that has been decided on the Declaration.

The Preamble of the Constitution makes no mention of a god, either. Does that burst your theological bubble?

As for the Declaration of Independence? It is law, actually. United States Code includes the DoI under the title "The Organic Laws of the United States of America".
