Republicans Want to Raise Your Taxes!

The hypocrisy is staggering. After insisting Obama extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich, and claiming that letting such expire would be a tax hike, they now want to tax the working class even more! This is typical of Republican underhandedness. You won't hear them clamoring about the evils of taxation on this issue, instead they will spin it that Obama's spending has made it necessary for us all to make sacrifices. All except for the wealthy Republicans that is. Read this link and educate yourself.

Pssst..."wealthy Republicans" (whatever that is supposed to mean) pay the those taxes.

Why don't you show me where it says that "wealthy Republicans" (whatever that is supposed to mean) are exempt from FICA and Medicare? You claimed "wealthy Republicans" are not affected by these taxes. Put up or shut up.

Re: Republicans Want to Raise Your Taxes!

If wealthy citizens and poor citizens each have to pay the same tax, whose well being do you think is more greatly affected?

    Let's not play games here.

    The argument is quite clear.

The argument is as clear as mud. You claimed "wealthy Republicans" (whatever that is supposed to mean) are unaffected by the FICA and Medicare taxes. That's patent nonsense. Moreover, almost half of US workers pay no income tax at all!

Don't change the subject to income tax. We're talking about payroll tax and you know it.

Working class Americans do pay this. They all do. Furthermore you know very well what a wealthy Republican is. Why do you insist on putting it in quotation marks as if it is some mythical creature? Do you not believe they exist? Really you are just being silly.

Re: Republicans Want to Raise Your Taxes!

No where in the article does it state Wealthy Republicans.....althought Lamar Alexzander stated this.....

"We don't need short-term gestures. We need long-term fundamental changes in our tax structure and our regulatory structure that people who create jobs can rely on," said Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., when asked about the payroll tax matter.

    The GOP says this.....
Republicans cite key differences between the two "temporary" taxes, starting with the fact that the Bush measure had a 10-year life from the start. To stimulate job growth, these lawmakers say, it's better to reduce income tax rates for people and for companies than to extend the payroll tax break.

    The CBO.....
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says payroll tax reductions give the economy a short-term boost. But it says the benefit is bigger if employers get the tax break instead of, or along with.

Oh but you did forget this part from MSDNC and them Dems.....
Many Democrats also are ambivalent about Obama's proposed tax cut extension. They are more focused on protecting social programs from deep spending cuts. Some worry that a multiyear reduction in the tax designated for Social Security could undermine that program's health and stature.

What the Dems hard of hearing as to what the CBO says? But I do like the part about how those Democrats that are against Obama's plan to.....are speaking out. Does this mean they are supporting the Republicans or their own interests?

No, I do not know what a "wealthy Republican" is and all Americans have payroll taxes deducted from their paychecks. In fact, the more you make the more you pay. If you could cut down on the empty partisan rhetoric and try to make a rational comment for once it might go over better.
