    Well, if we're to have a federal government, then part of it's job should be to ensure rule of law throughout the country. In a more anarchistic society, people would control that by choosing where to live, and those places that didn't uphold justice would become ghost towns or change to stay alive.

    The danger comes in its trying to make amends for past wrongs and equalize outcomes, which runs counter to rule of law.
