    Well, first I have to mention some of the holidays for today... Weed Appreciation Day (No, not marijuana), Something on a Stick Day, and Black Forest Cake Day

    All dates AD unless otherwise noted.

    845: Paris is sacked by Viking raiders.
    1866: First record of hospital ambulance going into service.
    1881: Barnum and Bailey joined forces to create "The Greatest Show on Earth" because of an elephant.
    1920: Palm Sunday tornado outbreak occurs.
    1923: Istanbul, not Constantinople. Angora also become Ankara.
    1959: Government of Tibet dissolved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
    1970: Gediz earthquake strikes Turkey, killing 1,086.
    1979: Have you heard of Three Mile Island? I thought so.
