First, I agree. trying to shoot someone in the leg is silly. Center of mass isn't just for killing the suspect, moving people are hard to hit and it increases the chance you will.

Second, that was way over the top. The driver either totally freaked out or got so frustrated he lost it. Either way saying he deserves a commendation is ridiculous. He needs down time and maybe some Valium to go with it.

I sincerely doubt that any cop could have gotten close to him without being shot. He appeared agitated and ready to take on all comers. That wasn't a swiss army knife that he was waving around. How many cops should have died trying to take him alive?
