Marines to consider lowering combat standards for women

I knew this would happen, they lowered the standards for Police and Firemen because enough women couldnt qualify, it didnt do the professions any good.
I fully understand women on the board arent going to like my opinion. Its not personal but I do believe it.

This is a HUGE mistake if the corp does it.

Two years ago, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the nation’s top military officer, laid down an edict on the Obama administration’s plan to open direct land combat jobs to women: If women cannot meet a standard, senior commanders better have a good reason why it should not be lowered.
Today, the “Dempsey rule” appears to have its first test case.
The Marine Corps just finished research to see if female officers could successfully complete its rigorous Infantry Officer Course.

A IOC diploma is a must to earn the designation of infantry officer. Of 29 women who tried, none graduated; only four made it through the first day’s combat endurance test.
Corps public affairs said it did not have the data on which tasks proved the toughest for women. But one particularly demanding upper-body strength test is climbing a 25-foot rope with a backpack full of gear. A candidate who cannot crawl to the top fails the test.

Traditionalists see the 0-29 performance as a call to arms by those inside the Pentagon who are determined to have significant numbers of women in the infantry. They are on the lookout for standards they believe are no longer relevant in today’s battlefield.

Is there a lot of call for that rope climbing thing in dessert wars?

Are women going to be allotted to only "desert" combat forces? What is that, so far as the US military is concerned.

Also, much of our desert warfare has occurred in cities and towns, so yes, the rope climb is relevant.

I expect the Marines are only telling the politicians that they are considering this. Likely, after careful study, they will say, no.

They're going to have to if Hillary's elected. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria and Kuwait have all donated large to the Clinton Foundation. YOUR kids will get drafted to go protect them if all out war breaks out in the middle east.

Remember when I posted the pictures of all the fatass soldiers?

Not only are these women more fit than them, they're more intelligent and possess greater leadership skills.

What's with all this turmoil over the Clinton Library? #1, it's old news, and #2 Didn't the Saudi's and other nations contribute both to the Bush Sr and Dubya libraries? In fact, didn't Bush's buddies the Saudi royal famiy donate to his library while he was still in office?

    http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2008...ng-his-library

At the press conference, a reporter asked Bush if he would disclose the contributions received for his presidential library? He didn't say yes. He replied that "we'll look at the disclosure requirements and make a decision." But there are no disclosure requirements. So that was a non-answer. (Coincidentally--or not--Barack Obama has introduced legislation that would compel the disclosure of donations to presidential libraries.) Bush went on to note that "some people like to give and don't like their names disclosed." That's the issue, isn't it? And he added that he would "probably take some foreign money" for his library.

These comments raise the possibility that he or his foundation might solicit secret contributions from foreign sources--governments, individuals, corporations--while Bush is in office. What an easy way for these foreigners to curry favor. And, of course, the Bush Foundation could hit up American corporations and individuals looking to score points with the White House.

Comedy+! You seem to not understand that contributing to a "library" in a President's last few months in office is different than contributing to a Candidates "Family" Foundation JUST BEFORE an election. A President in his/her last few months in office has little influence compared to a candidate with 4 to 8 years of influence ahead of them. Do you see the difference?
