    Facebook close the biggest page

Facebook closed Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak pages without a rhyme or reason, which is the biggest Turkish media group with 10 million followers in Facebook. Yeni Safak is known as a pro-govt newspaper. Now Turkiye should ban Facebook in Turkiye.

"Yeni Şafak daily and the Media Association decried a ban by the social media website Facebook on the Istanbul-based newspaper's accounts. Facebook suddenly shut down accounts run by Yeni Şafak on Sunday evening without an explanation. Newspaper officials said they were told by the website's officials that their Turkish, Arabic and Sports pages were closed due to the "merging of several accounts."

It really does not matter. This is unjust and Turkiye should close Facebook immediately. This is not the first time. Facebook and some other social media organs always behave contrary to justice when it comes to some countries.

    Too late...

YouTube, Facebook and Twitter blocked in Turkey over images of Istanbul prosecutor siege

It was not a permanent ban, it was from 2015, not currrent. I am talking about permanent ban of Facebook, Twitter and similar social media organs which violates laws continuously in Turkiye.

Facebook probably had a reason. They let a lot of things go in the grand scheme of things so for them to shut-down something probably means those running the page were doing something questionable.

"they probably had a reason" is not a just and democratic reason. They have to put their reason on the table in a detailed way and even if there is something wrong, it should be tolerated for correction. You cant close such easily and listlessly a news page with millions of followers. US violates the human rights, democracy, justice, freedom etc etc etc all the other humanitarian things one more time.

Communication stoppage would be my guess as to the purpose.

Facebook is a corporation. They have no obligation to provide a "democratic reason".

They let people and organizations get away with a heck of a lot so something must have prompted them to act on this news organization, especially since they are typically pro-freedom of speech.

I can't trust you're giving us the full story, so perhaps I will have to find out more to get the full picture.

Facebook is a company, not a government, and certainly not the U.S. government. They are under no obligation to anyone other than their shareholders. They block companies and organizations here occasionally as well.

Any ideas what this newspaper was showing or talking about on its page that particular day? For instance I'm pretty sure the pics of dead people you post from time to time will get a page shut down.
People who think a movie about plastic dolls is trying to turn their kids gay or trans are now officially known as
