Bernie Sanders: Real Unemployment Rate is 10.5%

Presidential candidate and self-identified socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) expressed his concern over Americans who have dropped out of the labor force, saying “real unemployment is 10.5 percent,” at a presidential campaign rally in Portland, Maine, the Daily Caller reported.

“When you talk about the economy, we also have to have an honest assessment of unemployment in America,” said the senator. “Once a month the government publishes a set of figures, and the last figures they published said that official unemployment was 5.4 percent.”

Ouch, that just might leave a mark. Reckon the MSM will spent much time if any reporting this slap at Obama ??

... are we or are we not using the exact same Math to measure, evaluate and report Unemployment as all the previous Administrations?

Sure they have, and they've been wrong.

Your hero Bernie just called Obama out for bally-hooing numbers that don't tell the whole truth.
What are you to do ??
Actually I already know the answer.

Obama is using the same math and the Bush administration, I don't know if others used the same or not?

All Democrats know very well that the reason that unemployment is 5.6% is because the worker participations rate has dropped to levels not seen since the 1970's

Mr. Sanders is correct the real unemployment rate is 10 to 11% This is something that the people already know but it will not be helpful to the Democrats.

Look at the bottom of the last column on the chart in post 6. Now you can explain it.

The number is the same as cited in the OP.
