Oh well then by all means if we killed more kids with firebombs in places like Dresden , nuking a few thousand in Japan was clearly justified. Under some sort of twisted logic I can't and don't want to access.

As far as I know, the best we can do is blow an ICBM out of the sky with a ship, over an ocean. We need something to clean up the radiation, then meltdowns from nuclear energy won't be as worrisome either.

There is actually very little radiation release in such instances. The nuke doesn't explode, and the radioactives sink to the bottom of the ocean.

I vote (just for the lulz) for the Vatican to get nukes.

    I voted for Iran

    For several reasons:

    (1) In the past I have worked for Persians who own companies in this country. There is a heavy Persian expat population in the US and a great number of them are (a) wealthy, (b) scientifically brilliant, (c) connected to family in the old country, and (d) networked with political interests in the old country. They function well as an early warning system, and they can help moderate the Iranian leadership.

    (2) I am quite doubtful that Iran is hugely interested in establishing the Caliphate. The dedication of their One Percenters to Islam is, I think, lip service that is secondary to their dedication to nationalism. They are quite a bit more interested, IMHO, in re-establishing the Imperial greatness over the Arabs (whom they consider little better than animals).

    (3) They (and Iraq) are at the geopolitical center of Eurasia. We should apologize for the crap we've done over the years and make nice.

    (4) Nice foil against Pakistan, to keep the Pakis honest.

    (5) Nice counter against China (not next to, but near).

Oh. So trigger doesn't activate or whatever? Capital idea, I'll probably look into that.

Oh good, the radioactives sink to the bottom of the ocean. Great. We don't see that, so it is not bad.

I see your sarcasm, but knowledge is a wonderful thing. Google "radioactivity at the bottom of the ocean" for a perspective. In particular, this: http://www.physics.isu.edu/radinf/natural.htm
