A call for a Eurozone Government

This is not a new idea, it has been the goal of the European technocrats all along.

French President Francois Hollande said that the 19 countries using the euro need their own government complete with a budget and parliament to cooperate better and overcome the Greek crisis.


“Circumstances are leading us to accelerate,” Hollande said in an opinion piece published by the Journal du Dimanche on Sunday. “What threatens us is not too much Europe, but a lack of it.”


While the euro zone has a common currency, fiscal and economic policies remain mostly in the hands of each member state. European Central Bank President Mario Draghi made a plea this week for deeper cooperation between the euro members after political squabbles over Greece almost led to a rupture in the single currency.

That was always the intended purpose of the EU and the Euro. They want to mimic the States.

Exactly. Problem France didn't expect the Germans to dominate. Now they are trying to get ahead of the game.

The problem with a European unified government is the incredible differences in culture within such a small geographical area. Throw in thousands of years of resentment and you have a scary situation. I could easily see unrest within the first 1-2 years of its existence.

The concept was to prevent war through interdependence. It worked when the economy was fine. Now that it isn't nationalism is coming back. But the dreams of the Euro-state remain with many.

The big stress points today are financial and unchecked migration from Africa.

Eurozone, how's if different from the EU and it's sidekick HATO?

It is the 19 nations that use the Euro. Not all of the nations inside the European Union use the Euro.

As far as HATO goes, that is in your head. No relation to the Eurozone, the European Union, or reality.
