The country has a right to participate in the decision to change the name of our mountain.

Just because something has been called something for your whole lifetime doesn't mean anything or imply ownership. It belongs to Alaska and Alaskans, and Denali is the name of the mountain.

Denali is the appropriate name for it, and i'm not saying that as a "liberal," I say that as someone that was born in Juneau Alaska and that has a connection with the state. It was only named Mt McKinley for political reasons anyway. It's an appropriate change.

I'm happy it was changed. President McKinley had no connection with Alaska and most Alaskans, especially native tribes, have wanted this change and have called it Denali for years anyway, so it makes sense. The only reason this is getting as much hatred is because Obama did it.
