More than half of immigrants on welfare

Is it about cheap labor? I hear that argument then I see stats that suggest that half of immigrants are receiving gubmint benefits.

I have a hard time correlating this.

The tax payers pay the government benefits. Big business (largely) pays the wages for illegals and unskilled legal immigrants.

The kids receiving the benefits are not the ones doing the manual labor.

I don't know that though, I don't know how it all breaks down so it's an "undefined" in my mind.

I do know that farms along the boarder use a lot of immigrant and illegal labor.

I also know that we have the highest level of welfare recipients in history.

Nobody talks about that part of the issue.

I wouldn't categorically agree with that. If they were into even basic "prepping" they would be more valuable than most.

Also, I am talking about immigration into the US. Not a survival situation.

That's true. While I see people complaining about the illegal problem we have, I also don't see them hiring the contractor that uses American citizens exclusively because of price. That was my point with the Walmart comparison. The construction industry is a big driver of jobs for illegals next to farms.

I guess the reality is not many support this notion (that allowed their ancestors to enjoy the freedom that America offers).
