One huge difference in the Bush wars and our earlier wars.

Bush struck fast and hard. Shock and Awe was no joke.

So the defeated countries really had not had years and years of heavy bombing raids.

Germany was bombed for some years. Japan had less years of heavy bombing but still the japs had cities removed from earth.

In the cases of Afghanistan, and Iraq, Franks did his best to save cities. And to go get the targets that were military targets.

Frankly we did a somewhat decent Job only because we had the manufacturing up and running and could divert it to solving Europe's problems. We could repair their roads and insert US trucks and autos. Even when I was in Germany in 62-4, there were many US made autos. More than most here would suspect.

I can't recall my parent's view of the Marshal plan but I think they were in general very happy the war ended. They were upset with Korea.

Today people here see war very different than my parents did. To them it was survival. We see war as aggression. But if Democrats do the wars, as most of them have been done by, they suddenly love Democrats but hate the war machine called the military industrial complex. Then jobs can go to hell in a hand-basket and the feds can lay off all military type workers and support workers.

No, you don't hear about them because you aren't supposed to hear about them. You aren't even supposed to know those operations were conducted. You don't matter.

    1) There wars were more just than ours
    2) It was easier to hide the realities of war

That was some days ago. I figured nobody wanted to discuss this.

I am not clear why you made the two comments.

    Open to finding out why.
