Unfortunately, the mythical “good guy with a gun” often finds himself robbed of his weapon at gunpoint, using unnecessary force against a minor threat, almost shooting himself in the head, leaving his boomstick lying around and getting Second Amendmented by a “good kid with a gun,” losing his gun on the roadside, or falling into a fit of rage and murdering a preschooler in cold blood. Despite the NRA’s claims to the contrary, numerous studies have shown that simply keeping a gun in the home increases the risk of a firearm-related death greatly, while the benefit in doing so is minimal, at best


The number of gun-owning households in America has decreased over the years, but thanks to the NRA’s propaganda, the die-hards who insist on filling their homes with deadly weapons have really stocked up over time. In fact, when compared to 20 years ago, there are now twice as many guns in far fewer hands, according to data from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives........

Let's see, the NRA head took out full page ads after Sandy Hook warning his customers, er, audience, that they needed to buy more guns and ammo because roving gangs of Hispanics were going to rape and murder their womenfolk, as the country drifted toward liberal induced rioting , crime and anarchy. The dip$#@! said all this even as violent crime rates across the board were nearing decades long lows.

I don't trust people who buys more guns because an immoral asswipe like Wayne LaPierre asked them to.

There can be several reasons. Being a collector, finding a rare gun, or owning guns of various sizes for different occasions. My husband ownes several Glocks, several sizes, small one under a suit, big one for work, another in his nightstand, etc I have a .38 full size on my nightstand, and a smaller .38 for my purse because it's lighter to carry.

Long guns are collected because of their rarity and potential value.

I believe in the second amendment and believe that as many guns as there are, as many owners as there are, the poster you called out is correct.
