You probably did not know that our scientists are working frenetically on a way to stop cows from farting methane gas..

Half our greenhouse emissions are from cows. But we soon expect they will be emitting fragrances that smell like Chanel No.5.

We expect an influx of Parisian tourists. And any Americans who have managed to preserve their olfactory sense from their abundant home-made noxious gases.

Find a way to trap the gas, then make methanol with it. Run your cars off it.

We can all certainly do that with the actual manure from farms.

So do we. Some guy did invent a methane converter for emissions but it the slight drawback of having to have the cows inside the collection unit. A bit of a challenge when you have 5 million cows.

Our scientists are experimenting with a product cows would eat to convert the gas while it's inside them. So the Chanel No.5 idea was not as wacky as it sounded.

The wages of sin, aka fraudulent accountancy

It's a pity we don't have the death penalty here. These two would have been cleanly disposed of in China.

The two Wellington accountants who were last year handed the longest jail terms in a New Zealand tax case are appealing their convictions, claiming Inland Revenue trained their clients in evidence against them.
David Ingram Rowley and Barrie James Skinner were last year jailed for eight and eight-and-a-half years respectively, after Justice Kos found them guilty on dozens of charges of fraud, tax evasion and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The US stopped convicting business criminals after the S&L scam.

    When was that?

A quarter of a century ago?

    Seems Australia is on fire.

We're sending a couple of fire fighters to put it out.

Yeah we never prosicute and send anyone to jail for financial crimes

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/30/bu...anted=all&_r=0

But if you are a democrat in this country and do not pay your taxes, you get to serve in the Presidents administration

    http://www.westernjournalism.com/tax...in-back-taxes/

And Yes I saw the fires on the news tonight. Is there any weather coming that will help the firefighters get things under control?
