Actually my comment was based on history. Troops have been left hung out to dry on more than one occasion.

Actually I was told just this afternoon its been unseasonably mild so far and the forecast looks good, of course my friend is in Kabul and I can't recall exactly where the fighting under discussion is taking place so it might not be quite as nice there.
