The newest unemployment figures have just been released for August, and unemployment has declined to 8.1%.

The real rate (U6) is 14.7%.

More people are giving up, some 368,000 in August - the participation rate is still falling. A loss of 125,000 jobs are reported for August. 96,000 jobs were added.

Adjusting for those who've given up, the UE rate is over 11%.

Though the rate fell, it is not good news for the country. People are still just giving up looking. 23 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed.

But, Bill Clinton just told Americans that Obama and he have created more jobs than all other presidents combined!

arithmetic??, you mean 4 years ago when unemployment was under 8%, the median household income was $5k/yr higher and we were $6 trillion less in debt. Let's also not forget that a huge part of this so-called inherited worst recession since the great depression was Dem Policy of Dodd/Frank pushing mortgages to folks that could not afford them (ya know the let's give everyone a fair shot even though the money will not be re-paid approach, an awful like GM). I also do not recall Bush belly-aching so much when his Admin inherited a recession caused in large part by the Clinton created tech bubble bursting in the late 90's early 00's.

It's nowhere near enough. We need about 125,000-150,000 new jobs a month just to keep up with population growth. All the spin in the world can't change what people know in their gut - we're suffering under the policies of this potus.
Yeah, I remember 4 years ago. Obama said he was the man to fix the economy. He didn't. He's incompetent, or worse.
His "reign" is no less than a disaster and utterly tragic.
