    Man Spreading

Apparently this is a thing. And some people... Feministish sorts are up in arms about it.

To me it was just sitting.

Why is this even a thing on the public eye? Why was it deemed worthy of entrance into the zeitgeist?

This is just about as loopy as the "Ban Bossy" campaign.

Sent from my evil, baby seal-clubbing cellphone.

Cuz you want a seat on the "T" and some guy is spread over 3 seats. (like whatever he has there is anywhere near deserving of that kind of space)
    Not Debatable.

Is this a slow news day or are you bored. Contrary to your claim of "manspreading" to be another dreaded feminist plot, the term was born on the internet, specifically in NYC and has become nothing more than a social meme. I wish I had the time to fret over absolutely nothing.

Buses are for poor people but if I took one, I'd manspread to keep uninformed voters at a safe distance.

    ...both?

But I'm hardly fretting over it - the way I sit hasn't changed.

I just find out particularly bizarre that this warranted any attention from anybody at all? Or that it even took off.

This isn't an issue in any area that doesn't have/need mass transit. Not an issue if you don't ride buses or subways.

Perhaps because women are sick and tired of having their legs shoved to one side to accommodate the guy sitting next to them. Being stuck between two man-spreaders is even worse, with one's knees locked and crushed between two oblivious self-absorbed males, whilst also sitting slightly forward to avoid the shoulder crush, because men will never sit forward to avoid crushing the woman's shoulders. No, men man-spread all over the place. With legs and elbows essentially akimbo, newspaper spread wide. Between two such specimens you usually see a female, crushed, elbows turned in, knees crushed, leaning forward or marooned behind the elbows, a look of quiet desperation on her face.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

    Right...

Because women never take up additional space with their shopping cargo.

Sorry man, but your reply is just a little too dramatic for me to find credible.

    Crushed? Really?

Having experienced that very phenomenon, I don't think I'm being dramatic. The seats on public transit are not wide enough to accommodate any form of spreading and I for one keep my shopping or whatever I am carrying, on my lap. BTW, I'm not a man.
