I am about 90 percent through with The Hill To Die On (about Capitol Hill). And I recommend it thoroughly.

It will not make everyone happy--it is not at all partisan; and it takes shots at Republicans at least as often as it does so with Democrats--but it is an inside look at the sausage-making in Washington. (Frankly, neither side comes off sparkling--to say the least.)

It is more for the analytical than for the nakedly partisan.

And it sometimes shows two people of the same party plotting against each other (as late as the 2018 mid-terms--which is where I am now).

About to finish The First Thousand years: A Global History of Christianity. Might do read Julius Evola's Notes on the Third Reich next.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

I am currently flying through Providence ~ by Max Barry

Max Barry is not only an author but he started a nation building site called Nationstates, I won't link it cause I'm not sure that would be kosher (Happy Passover BTW), but I would highly recommend it if you are looking for some quarantine distraction...

Taking a break from Conan Doyle to read the recently acquired 'The Final Solution' by Michael Chabon - in which an elderly, unnamed, retired consulting detective tries to solve the mystery of the nine-year-old German boy with the African parrot who appears suddenly in Sussex in 1944.

I just picked up Faceoff ~ edited by David Baldacci

Eleven short stories combining two author's characters. Really, really fun, but I'm reading it too fast...I hope they do a part two

I want to read that but it was $10 at DG. I read the story of Sam Walton and Kroc and McDonalds. Fascinating stuff.

Its a very good book. Fascinating , actually. Wal Mart has it for $2.99 but I am not sure if its on their racks or if you have to order it and pay shipping of $3.99.

I remembered reading The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Chabon and went browsing for more Chabon on my Kindle. I'm a cheap read and bought a package deal of three of his novels. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Right now I'm reading The Godwulf Manuscript by Robert B. Parker. I like Parker and this book reminds me you should not dwell too long on wardrobe when you're writing in a time of weird clothes as in the 1970s.

Who else similar to Grisham do you recommend?
Here's a link to the Literature Map. You put in a name and it shows other authors whose work is similar.
