    What awful prose...
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Your compulsive and obsessional slant on minor matters does seem to end up in you missing the wood for the trees most of the time .

When you post something of substance you may have half a point. I'll let you know when that happens.

Not so sure he misses the wood as wildly as you think.

After all, when he scratches his itch, he gets splinters.

Come sit down beside me I said to myself
And although it doesn't make sense
I held my own hand as a small sign of trust
And together I sat on the fence

Well I am in Virginia. But the expression predates Virginia by a couple hundred years and was coined several thousand miles away.

Oh sweet Jesus. This country is going to hell in a handbasket.

The BBC has been plunged into the deepest crisis in its history with the dramatic resignation of its director general, George Entwistle, after just 54 days in the job.
Entwistle fell on his sword after being engulfed by a crisis that escalated following confirmation on Friday that the BBC had wrongly implicated Lord McAlpine, a former senior Tory politician, in a story about paedophilia. It was the second scandal to hit Newsnight in recent weeks.
Its talent for self-destruction challenges even the Syrians.

Let it be known, however, that there are no pedophiles in the House of Lords. They all wear protection.

Paedophilia exists in all countries --- all ages and all demographic groups .
Our greatest talent --- transparency -- attracts clown type jokes about a matter which is not in the least bit funny .
Presently we are ripping ourselves to pieces over aspects of this matter but unlike most other places we do it openly and with tremendous candour .There are disadvantages , unfortunately , as there also exists a group who lie about such matters and "sincerely" claim knowledge of happenings which are actually fabrication , albeit often not from deliberate intent .
It's a form of hysteria and reminds you of the Witchcraft allegations both recent and stemming back to the 17 th and 18 th centuries across the developed world --- then essentially Europe .
Incest also occurs frequently across all parts of society. It is the hidden and taboo subject with unwritten understandings and agreements to keep the matter as hidden as it is reasonably possible .In fact on an international basis it is highly inflammatory as whole countries , and certainly classes and tribes , are built on incest for perfectly reasonable considerations from their perspective . India is a classic example .
The idea that paedophiles and those involved in incest come from the well off classes is as far from the truth as it is possible to be . It is there in every demographic group --- in principle just like homosexuality .
The estimated incidence of these " diseases" amongst sports people makes most people shake their heads in disbelief . But as a group they are no better or worse than others .
One day someone will produce results of the incidence of Gays among Social Workers .If they dare .
The resulting arguments will be volcanic on both sides .
Imagine then the same types of statistic for those who who are paedophiles and those involved in incestuous relationships .
NB .Over here , first cousins are defined as forbidden relationship subjects . Assume the same is true in the US . Would it be wrong to surmise that Incest is encouraged in New Zealand ?
