It makes perfect sense. We've gone toe to toe on the matter many times and, while I obviously doubt your potential for success, I very much respect that about you. You are the only atheist I have encountered on forums that takes that task seriously. The rest have been content to assume their inherited Christian perspective on morality, human dignity etc. while mocking their ancestral faith at the same time.

And I'm also agnostic. I don't know why God permits evil but I have ideas as to why He might.

    I'm not complaining, mind you.
That's just it though. How many declared not baseball fans are there? Is the atheist really just like the guy who doesn't like baseball? Or does he have a lot more to say on the subject of baseball? Honestly, it seems obvious to everyone but "declared" atheists themselves. I don't think your average theist cares all that much about people who simply lack belief. It's the people who need to tell us about it day after day that raise an eyebrow.

I respect whatever a person believes until it affects me or my family, other than that think what you want.
My problem with atheists is their faux being offended by nativity scenes and MERRY CHRISTMAS BANNERS in retail stores, christmas carols etc.

If you dont believe in god, ok thats fine. Why screw up a tradition that the kids enjoy the most that does not hurt you in any way shape or form. Thats my only problem with atheists

Or why troll a forum? What's the purpose? In such cases we're dealing with emotionally/psychologically damaged people.

Good analogy. I don't even think about it much unless the topic comes up.

Even as an atheist I agree with you especially about traditions and such. And the more utilitarian value of religion being part of the natural social institution standing between society and the state.

    True atheist.

I don't believe, and I don't care whether you do or not.

    The end.

I've lost a couple of jobs where I inadvertently let my atheism peek out of its hiding place at lunches or after-work drinks. Couple of weeks later (in one case, after a glowing review), I got the boot. If you're a Christian, think proclaiming yourself such in Iran. Yeah, that's how it feels.

Christians are not persecuted in Murica. Atheists are.

Wearing a mask with your nose sticking out is like wearing a condom on your testicles.

When out walking, look out for PROBlems. You know: maskless Plague Rats On Bicycles who blow past you without giving you time to get out of the way.

Ah, CONServatives, the Masters of Projection (MOPs). With CONServatives, every accusation is a confession. Weird, that.
