France could not project significant power to NK. I wouldn't put much stock in their bluster.

But have influence on both the British and United States. Their lead in responding to ISIS quite influential, one wonders whether they might call us to action in NK as well. For, we both agree with the French, yes, Peter? Or you'd ignore this latest provocation?

The French wanted to Punish Gbagbo in the Ivory Coast. The French wanted to punish Gadhafi and did. Then they wanted to punish Assad and failed. Now they want to punish N Korea.

Even more interesting is S Korea looking for assurances from the French. What say ye?


French President Francois Hollande promised Friday to enforce tough sanctions on North Korea, which faced UN condemnation this week for its latest attempted missile launch.

"We will ensure that in the Security Council, of which France is a permanent member, North Korea will be punished because we will not accept even the slightest threat to the safety and peace of the region," Hollande said in Paris after talks with South Korean President Park Geun-Hye.

On Wednesday, the Security Council unanimously backed a US-drafted statement that demanded North Korea "refrain from further actions, including nuclear tests," which are in violation of UN resolutions.

Park said she has asked for France's support in a continued tough stance on North Korea's missile and nuclear programmes......snip~

France of all nations is the only one on the globe lately with balls.

Let the French do what they wish, they certainly have been provoked. But that's the key, let FRANCE do as they wish. It's their fight, not ours.

Yep; shall we dismantled the UN now? After all, it shouldn't have any say so in other nations rights; we should re-instate Saddam Hussein as a sign that the UN no longer has any authority over anyone. Ooops....too late for that one. Perhaps Kim Jong Mentally Ill? Let him threaten South Korea; after all, the North Koreans are the only legitimate Government not propped up by the US or UN right?

You know there is really a vacuum in leadership when one believes that France could take the lead on ANYTHING. I will never let them, or Germany, off the hook for their complete lack of support to enforce UN resolutions against Iraq......no one should. They made that bed, it's ironic that they now get attacked and have to sleep in it.

But then....it was their city attacked, Truth. And the manner it was carried out.....walking around gunning down young innocent concert goers, looking children in the face and gunning them down.......that level of hate, I believe, woke the French...and the British..and even the US up. It woke two of our worst offenders in here up.
