Obama has had many former Secs of State and Directors of the CIA / FBI come out against his policy to not use terms such as Islamist. This is not new. You can't effectively fight your enemy if you can't identify him. Particularly the enemy trying to infiltrate the US or the self-radicalized citizens that seek to strike, as we saw in Orlando.

Its the magic word virus. So many believe we could solve the problem of terrorism by saying the magic words, radical Muslim terrorist, its now spread to the words Jihad & Islamic extremists.
