Dem Rep: Guns Are More Available to Young Teens Than Medical Prescriptions......

Now you know why we call Boobie Rush the Boob. The Demos symbolic sit in.....will go nowhere. What say ye?

As a group of Democrats stage a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi led an anti-gun violence rally on Capitol Hill. Surrounded by survivors of gun violence, Pelosi and a host of gun control activists announced their #NoBillNoBreak campaign, insisting they refuse to let Congress go on vacation before bringing anti-gun measures up for a vote. The two measures in particular they want to pursue are banning anyone on the no-fly list from obtaining a firearm and expanding background checks.

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL), whose son was shot and killed in Chicago in 1999, said “We need the House to represent the American people and not just the NRA.”
Guns are more available to young teens than a prescription from a physician, he argued. Even if these gun control measures do get passed, “what do we do” about the firearms acquired by 13 and 14-year-olds? he asked.

Rush’s story is a painful one, but facts matter in the debate over gun control. Laws state that you can't purchase a handgun until you are 21 and you have to show two forms of ID and pass a background check. For a rifle or a shotgun, you have to be at least 18 years of age.
Considering all four of the gun measures introduced in the Senate this week failed, the Democrats' new symbolic effort is likely to go nowhere......snip~

Is the Congressman seriously waiting for someone to tell him "what to do"?

What do we do about a 13- or -14-year-old who steals a car, takes it out on a joyride and kills someone? Make it harder for people to buy a car? Pass laws requiring all automobile owners to lock up their vehicles in a garage when not in use?

Only a tiny fraction of a percentage of all privately owned firearms are ever used in the commission of any crime. You can't childproof the world.

I know I know.....and to think Boobie is Thee Man that Smoked BO peep for that Congressional seat. Beat him so bad.....almost made the Peep quit politics.

Btw.....Boobie also represents the Gangster Disciples. But never says anything about those 13 or 14 yr old wannabes becoming full fledged members and getting guns anytime they want

You just conveniently use 'crime' in place of 'death'. The latter is used in 30,000+ per year. Ten of tens of thousands of more casualties. But you're fine with percentages. And with the false equivalencies with cars.

So much bull$#@! from the barrel-stroking gun violence apologists. Go oil your surrogate penis.

Except if you buy a handgun at a gun show. A gun show or any private sale only requires that you are 18 and over, photo ID and some cash. No waiting period at all.

There are no words that can properly describe how nauseated I become whenever I read one of your diatribes.

Okay. "Only a very tiny fraction of a percentage of all privately owned firearms are ever used in any shooting of another person". Better?

Two-thirds of that number constitute suicides. You're against adults being able to terminate their own lives?

Very often, the law looks for just such parallels and equivalences, in determining what is or is not appropriate in the area of regulation. A firearm has many lawful purposes, just as a car does. Pretending that a gun is innately different from any other thing that can be possessed does not make it so.

Hey, I own guns...but I know that a gun is nothing like a car. A car is meant to transport people. Many modern firearms were designed specifically and with the sole purpose to project metal into a living target.
