At least, I certainly think so...

A reasoned opinion, respect that, though outside what Will announced as his reasoning.

I wonder though, as an establishment Republican, would you trust anti-establishment Trump nominations?

As ignorant and simple minded many wish to believe Trump is, nothing was a simple minded and arguably absent of substance than the current occupants "hope and change" mantra and the last eight years of division, derision and malaise.

I find it a profound irony when people rant about Trump being simple or inexperienced when so many have already voted for someone far worse.

That should come as no major surprise, since that is exactly what syndicated political columnists, just by definition, do...

That is certainly a reasonable question.

Although I believe that Donald Trump is all over the place--to the right on some matters, and to the left on others--and I therefore find it difficult to "trust" him, I do think that his SCOTUS nominations would very likely be far preferable to Hillary Clinton's nominations.

In fact, he gave a list recently--of 11 people, I believe (mostly jurists on lower courts)--who, according to all who have reviewed the list, and are familiar with these people, appear to be most congenial to conservative values.

However, he did rain on his own parade a bit, by adding that he would wish to set forth an additional "list" of names (which, to date, has not been forthcoming).

And he said only that he would "likely" choose from the list given--not that he definitely would.

Still, I prefer leaving the SCOTUS nominations in the hands of Donald Trump, rather than Hillary Clinton...

If you are a career politican or political aide in washington on the republican side that means you have to have a public face that is conservative and the private big government face for unrecorded meetings with the democrats.

I hope that does not apply to you.
George Willard is a nerdy bootlicker, a scribbling prostitute, a hired pen, and a narrow-minded conformist. In other words, he is a typical product of the high and mighty Ivory Tower of academentia. He is more about gravy than gravitas.
