No, sorry Peter, that's a bit of a simplistic cop-out.

The government of Tony Abbot was heavily into governmental control - the government of Malcolm Turnbull is less so, but both are right wing governments. The government of Margaret Thatcher was also very controlling, as were the governments of Sueharto in Indonesia, Marcos in the Philippines, Franco in Spain, and Peron in Argentina.

My list is of things which are happening in your country and in mine - but more so in yours, and could lead to Fascism. That you don't want to discuss them is disappointing.

It isn't a cop-out. It is a simply way of discussing politics.

Well, whatever we may think the Nazis were, Fascism is described as an extreme right wing ideology, and it could happen today in any of our countries - all we need is enough fear of the unknown, and to manufacture a threat from any group whose shape of the nose, skin colour, customs or religion, we don't relate to.

I think some of those can apply to all our countries, but read the whole article to see how many apply to the USA, according to the author.
