Always wondered what that was about!

I saw part of the first episode and then quit. It went like this.

These guys are out in the snow. One of them comes up on some mutilated bodies. He tells the boss and wants to get out of there. Boss threatens to sword him to pieces and cut off his head. They go on. Next, zombie like monsters attack them and kill all but the guy who saw all the dead people. He escapes. He's caught by the guards of the town and sent before the kings hand. He tells the kings hand about all the mutilated bodies and monsters killing them. Kings hand rewards him by cutting his head off.
