@Cigar - the rule is pretty simple. If you want to yuck it up, keep it to the main forum. "Other Discussions" is for purely discussion purposes with little tolerance for thread diverting.

The rule has been referenced many times, I suggest you read and understand it.

This Thread is about The Fiscal Cliff ...

This QUOTE from Paul Krugman explains exactly how I feel.

Paul Krugman is a political hack who stopped putting economic thought into his reelection pieces in the NY Times. The funny thing as that he has followers that post on his blog as if they had an education.

I saw give America what Obama, Paul, and their ilk want. Give it to them to the max.

I'm curious, since you have no indicated you wish to engage in serious discussion, do you really believe the fiscal cliff is just a political ploy? Just on the Rep side when Dems also agreed to a package of tax hikes and spending cuts to try and avoid it? Why? Furthermore, do you agree with Krugman's criticism of Obama? Have you agreed with Krugman's criticisms of Obama throughout his presidency?

My engagement on this discussion or any other discussion on this forum is my opinion on what I believe is true. Why is the definition of serious discussion on this forum is for individuals to give expert commentary on subjects no one on this Forum are experts on. I don’t personally know Paul Krugman, not does anyone else on this Forum. He a public figure who give his opinion of subjects he knows best. We either agree with his assessments of not, but none of this makes us experts. NO ONE on The Forum can prove that they are Political Experts. Therefore, everything discussed are variations of opinions.

Now, my “opinion”, as it was several days ago is and hasn't change nor will it ever; “The Fiscal Cliff or World Coming to an End January 1st or any other political apocalypse is all hyped up Bull Shit". I also believe, that the Republicans Fucked Up when they didn’t take the President and The Speakers deal 2 years ago. When President Obama first took office, everyone was predicting the End of America, well guess what, it’s November 13th 2012 … and we’re still here … Guns and all and still no $6.00 per/gal Gas.

I don’t need to agree with each and every criticism Mr. Krugman makes, some I do …some I don’t … it’s my choice and no one else’s.

I think you are making a mental leap from serious discussion to expert discussion. I don't think anyone can claim the latter.

When I'm having a discussion with anyone, I'm usually rendering an opinion, unless I am uniquely qualified in the subject.

I'm not going to change my opinion on the Fiscal Cliff ... we'll all be able to see the facts of the outcome next year.

Other Discussion is for serious discussion of opinions, Krugman's, yours, mine, etc. With that in mind, my question to you was not would you repeat your opinion but why do you hold that opinion. What is the basis of your opinion?
