I was attacked by a raccoon in a garbage can once. Outdoor washroom... middle of the night... I bolted so fast I ran across campus with my pants around my knees, while screaming bloody murder.

I bet that if he used the broom handle to hold the lid open, the raccoon would have ran away with no harm done.

Raccoons are dangerous. I found a few in my barn and they were always aggressive. Even in that huge barn, they can perceive themselves as cornered. #7 is generally considered a proper method of dealing with them. More'n 'nuff of them left, they'll never miss one
They are among the worst for rabies, running in first place with skunks and possum.
If they don't run at first sight, they are more than likely sick and even more dangerous. Those out in broad daylight are probably diseased.
I've got dogs. I don't take chances with any raccoon that wants to fight with my dogs. One reason I keep loaded guns near to hand...

hunt wild animals much? That's like saying one end of a turd is preferable to the other.

This one, in the OP video, looked cornered.

    Sorry, Jack Hanna.

I've encountered many city and country trash pandas and never had a problem except them twanging my tent fly guys while I'm trying to sleep.

    city camp grounds...lol
Way out past your experienced land of Nene, it's different. You could say it's full-time camping where I live without the tent.
Them f**kers get into gardens, fight with dogs, tear up anything they can........and they tend to be rabid. We take no chances out here. I don't want to have to put my dogs down because they've tangled with any of them.
Raccoons in campgrounds tend to be tame compared to country critters
