If someone is the "teacher" that he says, and if he's so much more educated than us, it should be known that punctuation marks come directly after a word, you don't put a space between a word and a punctuation mark. A space comes after the punctuation mark, but not before.

I did some research on that and cary's punctuation style is somewhat french, though their rule is to put a space only before punctuation consisting of two marks ( : ; ! ?) and not single ones (,.).

Perhaps cary is a Channeler.

In fact, here in the business class lounge at Heathrow, I made some friends with a Brit couple heading to the US on my flight. I asked them to read some of Cary's posts about America. They were horrified and apologized. Then the lady said, he is likely not even English, maybe Scottish....
