My thoughts and actions.

I work in the downtown area from time to time. Usually I'm asked for a buck or two even spare change. If they don't give a reason I'm broke.
The few times I'm asked and given a reason it's usually for food. I tell them lets go buy a meal or go to store and buy canned goods. Only a few have ever taken me up on that offer. I've even bought clothing/shoes a couple times.

There are two shelters and a church close by that feed those in need daily, most panhandlers/beggers I run in to are doing so to feed a habit. I refuse to enable.

I give out $5 and $10 to the people in the worse shape I come upon. I ignore the guys with signs on an off-ramp that do several hours roadside then walk around the corner and get into their car to get to their condo . They usually work in husband and wife pairs ive noticed. But the real down and outers sitting next to a dumpster that arent panhandling will get some cash in the hopes they get a moment of relief. I dont car if its sigs, booze or whatever. Id like to delude myself that it will be a meal and coffe. But Ill never know.

I see those sign guys here in Arizona even when its over 110 degrees. If they can do that they could get a job.
