I actually don't totally disagree with that.
Conservative by nature like things they way that are and the way the constitution says they should be.
Liberals by nature want change and would like to change them to what they think it should be. Which is fine.
The problem is how they choose to change it. The Constitution states that there is an amendment process and a process for creating laws. Many times the left wants to side step that process and use executive orders and Judges to create the change.
When that happens, you get the division that we have in the country today because people were denied their voice in the process

Did he actually say, "Liberals love America like grownups?"
Because...

I agree with this as well.
I have a hard right winger that I work with occasionally. He has a built in resistance to all things he didn't vote for or anything that is 'forced' on him.
Seatbelts for instance, he doesn't wear them. Not because he thinks of the safety aspect but simply because it's forced upon him. I look at as a bit self defeating and ignorant but then again, I never wore mine until it became a law so who am I to judge.
edit: As far as the OP that's been my view on conservatives for quite some time. Doesn't make it wrong and it doesn't make liberals right, just a generalization that conveys some truth in the thought process'.

That in it's self is the disconnect conservatives have with the rest of the country. You see, the way things "were" was not fair to those who didn't look a certain way, believe in a certain religion, or fall in love with approved sexes. Now, in conservative ideology, that may mean that they are lesser people and don't deserve the same rights as "'muricans", but thankfully the law as it is written, applies to "all" citizens.

The problem I have with Liberals is multi-leveled. I think they are dangerous and contrary to Franken's mewlings, Liberals do NOT love this country. If they did, they would not want to transform it at a fundamental level.
Conservatives, at least people who practice the same kind of Conservatism I do and I think most Conservatives do, realize this country has many flaws, but we understand that most of those flaws are caused because people do not adhere to our founding principles, not because of the principles themselves.

I don't know that I totally disagree with this statement either. As I said Conservatives don't embrace change easily.
But just because I did not want the word Marriage used for a union between the same sexes, does not mean that I did now want them to have the same rights. I also would have been much more open to it, if it had passed a vote rather than be inflicted on us by the Courts.
The Racist thing is largely BS, that has been proven again and again. So we will not address that again here.
But the desire to have the constitution followed is the biggest thing that binds the true conservative, And that is not happening on either side of the aisle
