Good. They should be helping. The best thing is to hand down your recipes for favorite foods and how to make them. It's a legacy and a human tradition. When you are too old and feeble to make those dishes, it will be nice to know you can have them made for you...and tell them that they didn't get it quite right...LOL.

I wish somebody would have taken to teach me our family recipes...
I learned all of my mother's recipes many of which were handed down by her mother, which were handed down from my great grandmother etc, as well as some from my Dad's mother. I can't imagine not having those favorite foods at my disposal. Being slave labor in the kitchen growing up has its advantages later in life.
