That may sometimes be the case. Nevertheless, I have to believe that I.T. people have a vested interest in making computers and their use as obscure, convoluted and difficult as possible; that way, only they can "fix" them. There should be a way for the user to communicate more efficiently with the computer - simply and in our language.

I had a problem with a Del computer several years ago and it seemed as if they were stalling to run the warranty out. They were doing everything possible to say the problem was not their hardware.

A different I.T. guy at work today - and this guy I really trust - told me that I can put Windows 7 on my home computer and scrap 8. I just have to back everything up first to ensure I don't lose anything valuable. Maybe I will look into that.
