There have been a couple threads on this topic already, so all I can do is repeat what has already been said. I feel that the EC is the best way to make sure that the smaller States get a voice in national elections. If someone were to come up with something better, I would consider it, but definitely do not want a direct democracy, on a national level. The EC does it's job the way it was designed to do.

Direct democracy could only be tyrannical on a national level.
