Democrats Demand Obama Grant Blanket Pardon To Illegals In Deferred Action

Blanket Amnesty, liberals are beyond cracked

With the Trump presidency drawing nearer, Democrats are frantically looking for ways to prevent President-elect Trump from deporting illegal immigrants. About 60 Congressional Democrats are urging President Obama to issue a blanket pardon to 750,000 young illegal immigrants who are in the president’s deferred action program. Trump has vowed to deport criminal aliens the day he takes office, which has some Democrats, like Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), to pardon those that have non-violent drug offenses and other violations. The problem is that the Obama White House has said this wouldn’t grant them legal status. Law experts also noted that while it’s true that a mass pardon wouldn’t grant them legal status, it could open the way for them to apply for such a designation. At the same time, like with TPP and closing Gitmo, this isn’t going to happen

White House: President Obama Can Not Pardon Undocumented Students
December 08, 2016 - White House spokesman Josh Earnest said President Barack Obama cannot use his clemency authority to legalize the immigration status of undocumented students.
Earnest said Thursday that is why the president was such a forceful advocate for legislation that would correct some of the injustices and implement some of the reform that would enhance our national security, improve the country's fiscal situation and obviously ensure that we treat people fairly." The response came after a group of 60 Democratic House members sent a letter urging Obama to pardon Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients for the offense of being in the United States illegally, the idea being to shield them from prosecution.

US President Barack Obama meets with a group of "dreamers" who have received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) at the White House in Washington

The DACA program started by Obama allows certain undocumented immigrants to the United States who entered the country as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. More than 740,000 people have been approved for deportation relief under the program.

President-elect Donald Trump has promised to cancel all executive actions, memoranda and orders issued by President Barack Obama affecting the protection of immigrants who were brought to the country as children. Trump has labeled them "unconstitutional."

He wasn't the lesser evil. Hillary was terrible, but Trump is clearly (by any sane measurement) much, much worse. Hillary would have been a bland, somewhat progressive (thanks to Bernie) president. She would have been paralyzed with obstruction, served one term, then faded into irrelevance. Trump is authoritarian-minded bully, and we're one tragedy away from seeing a civil rights crack down and/or a full-blown war with [insert nation that looks at him funny]. He has surrounded himself with almost literal super-villains who want to tear apart the protections of government. There is no comparison.

Not even close. Hillary was such a failure on so many levels that the states could have elected a cow and it would have been a step up.

Trump has his issues -- that's a given, but Hillary was the tail-end of a corrupt Clinton dynasty, one everyone was ready to see gone. Electing her would have been a step back in time a quarter of a century -- to the Bill Clinton glory/disaster days. The DNC made a massive error and they're paying for it now.

If nothing else, Trump will shake up the two-party system.

I agree with that, except that you have NO IDEA what will happen when the pieces fall to the floor. You are taking a risk. And was your life really that bad prior to Trump?
